If you have a child in your house, then you know the appeal that our little devices hold for children. My toddler is constantly grabbing my Galaxy Nexus, in fact he watches me and jumps all over it the second that I put it down and walk away. Kids and a $600 electronic device are not the best match in the world, no matter how closely you watch over them.
Archos is entering the tablet arena with a ICS tablet specifically designed for kids. The 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM inside won't exactly blow your socks off, but those specs were reasonable just a year ago. The tablet has a kid friendly UI and comes preloaded with "colored icons, home screen folders with direct access to games, entertainment, learning and puzzles and the top 28 kids’ apps pre-loaded including Angry Birds, Pig Rush and Flight Frenzy." The tablet will also feature a kid app store with access to over 10,000 apps that are filtered specifically for kids.
For the price, this is hard to beat; and when the kid dumps the tablet in the bathtub you won't feel so bad about your new paperweight.
